Security and privacy

Patient information is handled with care.

A MedsCheck worksheet contains personal health information. Here is how Materia Health protects it, and what you stay in control of.

You review everything the AI suggests

Suggested side effects are drafts. Each one can be used, edited or dismissed, and nothing is added to the patient's record until you accept it.

[WHAT IS SENT TO THE AI PROVIDER: state which fields are sent, for example the medication name only, and whether patient identifiers are excluded.]

Secure sign-in

Each pharmacist signs in with their own account, set up for you by our team. Sign-in is handled by a dedicated authentication service, so passwords are never stored in the worksheet app.

[TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION: state whether it is available or required.]

Where your data lives

[DATA STORAGE: where worksheets and drafts are stored (on the pharmacy's computer, in the cloud, or both), in which region, and with which provider. Describe encryption in transit and at rest only if it is true.]

Ontario privacy law

[COMPLIANCE STATEMENT: describe how Materia supports your obligations under PHIPA and PIPEDA, and any agreement you sign with pharmacies. Have this reviewed by counsel before publishing.]

What stays in your hands.

  • Your clinical judgment. You complete and sign the worksheet. The app never files anything on its own.
  • Your drafts. You decide when a worksheet is saved, completed or deleted from Saved worksheets.
  • Your exports. The patient PDF and HCP notification are produced only when you choose Export.
  • Your questions. Ask us anything about security before you sign up. We answer in writing if you prefer.
